The seventh edition of MED Green Forum<\/strong> will be proudly hosted by the University of Florence in an historical building of the city centre: the Convent of Santa Teresa, now site of the university\u2019s Department of Architecture.<\/p>\n Located near the formerly defence wall of the fourteenth century, in the eastern part of the historical centre, the structure dates back at 1620 when it was built as a convent by the will of Maria Francesca Guardi. Church and convent were designed by the Florentine architect Giovanni Coccapani.<\/p>\n In 1808 the convent was closed, then reopened in 1816 hosting a school.<\/p>\n In 1865 the convent was suppressed, and the building was modified, converted into a prison with carpentry, shoemaking, and mechanical workshops.
